Level Architecture// Back 4 Blood COTW: Light Guide Us

Here is a selection from my Level Architecture work illustrating the process and evolution of level, 'Light Guide Us', in Back 4 Blood's Expansion 2: Children of the Worm. I started with a initial top down and location from Level Designer, Chris Ashton, and began to block it out in SketchUp to quickly bring my level geometry into Unreal Engine. We pursued a vertical phase where the Level Blockout and Style Guide/Proxy assets were done simultaneously due to a extremely tight schedule. This was a close collaboration, iterating from macro to micro and back out again, with Level Designers—Chris Ashton, Matt Baeli, Art Director—Mike Brainard, and Art Lead—Matt Olson. Big thanks to my besties, Senior Concept Artist, Dominic Jaro, for flushing out and pushing the design of the seafood restaurant and Lead Lighting Artist, Scott Warren, for early lighting collaborations. Shout out to the entire art team for this level, amazing job, my bff's forever: Chris Evans, Sharon Bednarek, Ian Runnels, Dallan Pickard, Taylor Brandenburger, Richard Piper, Brent Griffith, Brenton Hesse and Rudy Lamotte.
